About Us

Dynamic, caring women who want to improve the lives of women and girls will find personal fulfillment in volunteering with Soroptimist International of Camas/Washougal.

This professional women?s service club, a 501C3 organization, aims to improve the lives of women and girls in our local communities and throughout the world by promoting and providing funding for educational opportunities through academic and vocational scholarships and training for:
* single mothers seeking on-going education
* health-care students furthering their education
* women returning to the work force

Special fundraisers, such as organizing and managing professional estate sales, providing refreshments at community concerts, and undertaking various other endeavors, help to raise money for such projects as presenting school programs to empower young women, offering assistance for victims of domestic violence, and furnishing backpacks filled with necessities for children removed from unsuitable environments.

In addition to enjoying personal fulfillment, Soroptimist members find the club encourages leadership development and networking opportunities both in the professional community and through friendships formed with members of international clubs at conventions held further afield. Members also have the chance to serve as mentors to others who might be at the beginning of their professional careers.
