Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn - Learn How FREE Social Networking Sites Can Build Your Business Clientele
Please join the Camas-Washougal Chamber of Commerce at the October Luncheon event on Thursday, October 15th. The Keynote Speaker will be Dr. Dene Grigar, Associate Professor and Program Director of Digital Technology and Culture at Washington State University (Vancouver Branch Campus). The program will focus on how businesses can build an significant online presence using free social media websites.
In September 2009 CNN.com reported that Facebook’s population had reached 300 million people, close to that of the entire United States. Twitter, the third most popular social media site, is reported as having 6 million unique visitors and 55 million visits each month. It stands to reason that businesses that want to build an online presence and develop a new customer base need to pay attention to social media. This talk gives an overview of the main social media sites––Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, Twitter, Flickr, and Google Groups––and provides insights to how to utilize them effectively.
